🏃‍♀️Tip of the Week: NYC Marathon Ready — Run or Cheer Like a Pro!

Whether you’re running the New York City Marathon or cheering from the sidelines, prepping smart helps you make the most of race day.🙌

For the Runners:

  • Stick with what you know. Use your tried-and-true breakfast, gear, and pacing — no surprises on race day.
  • Break the race into chunks. Mentally divide the 26.2 miles by boroughs or landmarks for manageable chunks.👟
  • Smile and soak it in. The city’s energy is incredible, and smiling actually helps reduce perceived effort and earns you more crowd love, advises veteran NYC marathoner Erica Agran.

🎉 For the Cheer Squad:

  • Pick 2-3 key spots. Choose locations near subway stops so you can catch your runner multiple times.
  • Bring the gear + fuel. Signs, snacks, cowbells, and cheering — your runner will appreciate that mid-race boost.
  • Be specific about spotting. Let your runner know your exact mile/cross-street/side-of-street so they can find you.👋

Whatever your role this Sunday, your energy makes a difference.🩵 For more tips for both runners and spectators, check out our full posts:

Hello Reader! HAPPY WELLNESS WEDNESDAY to you! 🩵 You may have noticed (or maybe not🫠) I haven't sent out a newsletter in a while. It's been a rough winter - I got injured and my dog died, which hit me really hard. After so many years of exploring together and making me laugh with her mischievous ways, my Akita Kiyoshi ultimately succumbed to late-stage EPI and complications. She made it past 11, which was a big achievement considering all she overcame - from cancer to bloat and EPI. I wanted...
